Evil Side of Nanotechnology
(NANO-SILVER;A THREAT TO SOIL,WATER AND HUMAN HEALTH)
Most of us are aware of the advancement in the field of nanotechnology and its power to change our way of living.But there are some cons of Nano-tech.I am highlighting one aspect of the cons.Most of us knows the pros.......isn't it ?

Silver particles in nano silver are less than 2nm in diameter.Silver in the nano-silver solution has high exposed surface area.Now a days nano silver particles are incorporated in several of consumer products including food packaging,odour resistant textiles,washing machines(household appliances) and 'band aid'.It has recently been it possesses risk to human health and environment. Friends of the Earth has also claimed that silver nano particles have a toxic effect on different kinds of living cells.It adversely affects beneficial bacteria in soil and water.Thus can slow down the nitrogen fixation and breakdown process.Other than this nano-silver may compromise our ability to control harmful bacteria.It may make them anti-biotic resistant.Further toxicity of nano-silver is more than bulk silver.It is also being discussed that introduction of nano-silver in daily goods may be injurious to health as nano-dust released them may cause eye allergy,skin allergy or respiratory problems.
