by:OPSSEN page,OPSSEN group
It was initially launched in 2010 with aim to protect environment and an impressive 10,000 people took part, counting 210,000 butterflies and day-flying moths across the nation. The UK's big butterfly count takes place from 14 July to 5 August.(2012) It's a chance to help assess butterfly populations, a key indicator of the health of the environment. They respond quickly to change in environmental conditions. They are mostly found in least polluted areas.Their presence shows healthy environment. So counting their number may help prevent diversity loss.People from UK can be the part of survey by clicking on its official website.
