Cellphone : Death ring for plants
For us ringing of phone may be a matter of some information or communication. But for plants its always a death call.
Scientists from Gujrat ,India have proved it.They studied the effect of EMWE on Ocimum(Tulsi) and Spinach(Palak).These plants were grown in controlled environment and provided with essential nutrients,water and sunlight.They were exposed to EMWE of frequency 900M Hertz. and magnetic field strength of 1.9 Tesla.
Both physiological and biochemical analysis of these plants were carried out.
The morphological changes like :-
* decrease in number of branches ,leaf size,height
*increase brittleness of leaves
*early falling of leaves
Biochemical analysis :-
*The biochemical analysis indicated that thare was gradual decrease in photosynthetic pigments like chlorophylls and anthocyanins. But carotenoid pigment contents increased which resulted in early ageing effect.
*Upon long term exposure carbohydrate like starch,cellulose level decreased.
*Further antimicrobial activity of Tulci was decreased after exposure.
This experiment was carried out by Prof.Ved Vyas Dwivedi and others.
Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) for human bodies but nothing specified for the plants.................?
